motuihe island public toilet installation

Motuihe Island has some of the best sandy beaches of the inner Hauraki Gulf islands, and these together with its clear waters, sheltered anchorages, visitors facilities and community conservation efforts, make it a popular destination for day visits and camping.

Department of Conservation (DOC) manage the island facilities, and were the Principle for this project. DOC called for tenders for the replacement of the existing failed commercial sized on site wastewater treatment system that services the existing public toilets on the island with difficult site access. Reflection Treatment System Ltd. provided the winning combination for this project in cost, high environmental standards and ease of construction/maintenance.

Owhanake wastewater treatment Plant

The Auckland City Council put out a request for tender for the design, build and operation of a Recirculating Sand Filter system required to treat commercial strength wastewater from Oneroa Township located on Waiheke Island in the Hauraki Gulf. A Cluster Wastewater Management System was required to address the sewage problems arising from increased development in Oneroa Township. The wastewater treatment plant includes holding tanks to account for the variable flows, recirculating sand filter, slag filter, nutrient reduction, further treatment via natural and manmade treatment wetlands with disposal to a waterway. The Treatment Plant is monitored and controlled via remote telemetry, and is tested for chemical and biological performance on a monthly basis.

Park view retirement village

Park View Village in Tapu Road, Huapai was designed, constructed and marketed by Universal Homes for a niche market of independent retired people.  Reflections role was to design, install and manage the Wastewater Treatment and Disposal which was ten metres from homes without visual or odour intrusion, and which could be managed without worry to the owners.

The Sands is a high quality subdivision at the Northland beach township of Mangawhai Heads. The subdivision was staged to match market demand and to phase the development costs.  The reticulation and treatment system were also staged for the same reasons.  A Reflection Bottomless Sand Filter was chosen due to low cost, high level of treatment (including Coliform removal) and the technology being the best suited for highly variable, seasonal loading rates. The Kaipara District Council is planning to connect the whole town into a centralised sewer system.  The reticulation was therefore installed to suit current on-site treatment and any subsequent township system.
